Job Summary

Job Description

Farlow is working with a growing Australian business of approximately 500 employees that is investing heavily in improving how data is used across the organisation.

The business has spent the last couple of years building out its cloud data platform and is now looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help bridge the gap between the core data engineering team and the analysts and business teams consuming the data.

You will join a data function of approximately 15 people working across Data Engineering Analytics and BI. The environment is built around Snowflake dbt and SQL with a strong focus on creating trusted well-modelled datasets that can be used across the organisation.

This is not a traditional BI Developer position. You will spend most of your time working in the transformation layer taking raw data and turning it into clean tested and reusable data models.

What youll be doing
  • Building and maintaining transformation pipelines using dbt
  • Developing scalable dimensional and analytical data models
  • Working extensively with SQL and Snowflake
  • Improving testing documentation and data quality
  • Creating trusted datasets for analytics and reporting teams
  • Working with Data Engineers on upstream data requirements
  • Partnering with analysts and business stakeholders to understand how data is being used
