Job Summary

About your team

Our Corporate Affairs team has broad responsibilities deeply aligned with Wesfarmers reputation including corporate communications Group corporate reporting government relations oversight of the Groups reconciliation ambition oversight of the Groups sustainability policies and objectives community partnerships stakeholder engagement and the Wesfarmers Arts program.

About you

With exposure to public policy regulatory or government affairs ideally relating to AI digital platforms or data you can track and interpret policy developments and translate them clearly for internal audiences to inform the Groups response.

You bring strong digital content and communications experience underpinned by sharp copywriting skills across web social and EDM formats. You understand how to keep corporate and editorial content distinct from consumer marketing and youre comfortable managing quality consistency and brand alignment to a high standard and on deadline.

Just as important is your ability to balance planned content with time-sensitive requests without losing accuracy. You take ownership of your channels surface opportunities and apply sound judgement to what you publish or send into the review chain.

What youll do

Reporting to the Head of Media and Public Affairs and working closely with OneDigital and Divisional teams youll be a senior voice across:

  • Digital policy support: help identify key digital AI and technology platforms risks and opportunities for the Group including stakeholder and reputational dependencies
  • Industry engagement: support Wesfarmers participation in peer and industry forums on policy and regulatory affairs including the Business Council of Australia and Tech Council of Australia
  • Advocacy: support the Groups engagement with Government and other stakeholders on priority digital AI and technology issues
  • Digital content: develop and manage corporate and editorial content across the Groups owned channels including the corporate website and social and digital media
  • Strategic communications: support digital communications at results Strategy Briefing Day AGM and ASX announcements including managing external video design and photography production
  • Digital performance: manage the corporate website in partnership with content owners and IT and track and report on engagement across owned channels

What youll need

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Digital Media Journalism Political Science or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Depth to career in digital content communications or owned channel management ideally within a corporate agency or in-house environment
  • Exposure to public policy regulatory or government affairs ideally relating to technology specifically AI digital platforms and/or data
  • Ability to track interpret and translate policy and regulatory developments for internal audiences
  • Strong digital content production and copywriting across web social and EDM formats
  • Experience commissioning and managing external creative production such as video design or photography
  • Sound attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent content streams
  • Confidence applying AI and digital tools to communications work
