We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute SuccessFactors Solution Architect to provide authoritative technical and functional leadership across the full program lifecycle. This is a senior highly visible role in which you will be responsible for defining the end-to-end solution architecture governing configuration and integration design decisions and ensuring the platform delivers sustainable scalable outcomes for a large and operationally complex workforce.
You will operate at the intersection of technology strategy HR transformation and enterprise architecture advising senior client stakeholders leading a multidisciplinary delivery team and shaping how the SuccessFactors ecosystem evolves over the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Define and own the end-to-end SuccessFactors solution architecture including module configuration strategy data architecture integration design and platform governance.
- Develop and maintain architecture artefacts including solution design documents architecture decision records (ADRs) integration design specifications and technology roadmaps.
- Lead the architectural design of integrations between SuccessFactors and adjacent enterprise systems including SAP S/4HANA payroll engines Active Directory / Entra ID and third-party HR systems.
- Evaluate build vs. configure vs. buy options and provide clear evidence-based recommendations to client leadership and the program steering committee.
- Ensure solution designs comply with enterprise architecture standards government security frameworks and SAP best practice guidelines.
Technical Leadership & Delivery Oversight
- Provide authoritative technical leadership and design governance across the full SuccessFactors module suite including Employee Central Recruiting & Onboarding Performance & Goals Succession & Development Learning and Compensation.
- Guide and quality-assure the work of functional consultants business analysts integration developers and third-party implementation partners.
- Lead technical design workshops solution walkthroughs and architecture review boards with client and vendor stakeholders.
- Own technical risk identification and mitigation planning ensuring architectural risks are visible at the program governance level.
- Drive resolution of complex technical issues design conflicts and integration challenges across the delivery lifecycle.
Integration & Data Architecture
- Architect and oversee the design of middleware and API-based integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI) REST/SOAP APIs and SAP BTP services.
- Define data migration strategy and oversee data mapping cleansing and validation activities across all migrated HR data entities.
- Establish data governance standards for master data management within SuccessFactors including position management org structure and foundational object hierarchies.
- Ensure integration designs meet performance reliability and security requirements appropriate to the client operating environment.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Serve as the primary technical advisor and escalation point for the clients senior technology leadership HR executive and program sponsors.
- Translate complex architectural concepts into clear accessible language for executive and non-technical audiences.
- Engage proactively with SAP account teams product specialists and partner ecosystem to leverage platform capabilities and stay ahead of roadmap developments.
- Contribute to vendor evaluation contract scope definition and statement of work reviews where architectural expertise is required.
Governance Standards & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and enforce architectural governance processes including design authority structures change control procedures and configuration management standards.
- Monitor SAP SuccessFactors release cycles and assess the impact of platform updates on the clients configuration baseline and roadmap.
- Identify opportunities for platform optimisation capability uplift and automation that deliver measurable value to the client organisation.
- Contribute to the development of reusable architectural patterns standards and playbooks for future engagements.
Requirements
- At least 810 years of experience in solution architecture with a substantial portion focused on SAP SuccessFactors implementations across multiple modules and client environments.
- Demonstrated experience as a lead or principal architect on at least two full-lifecycle SuccessFactors implementations of significant scale and complexity.
- Deep technical expertise across the SuccessFactors platform with particular strength in Employee Central integration architecture and data migration.
- Proven experience designing and delivering integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI / iFlows) SAP BTP OData APIs and SFTP-based file integrations.
- Strong understanding of HR business processes workforce management and the organisational change dynamics associated with large-scale HR technology transformation.
- Experience operating in enterprise architecture governance frameworks and producing architecture artefacts to a professional standard.
- Demonstrated ability to lead influence and quality-assure the work of cross-functional technical and functional delivery teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of engaging confidently with C-suite and senior government stakeholders.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.
- Australian Citizenship is required due to the nature of the client environment.
