Principal Consultant Resource Geology (Perth)

We are looking for a talented motivated and enthusiastic resource geologist with 15 years experience in the mining and exploration industry who has proven experience in resource geology and geostatistics. The role will primarily involve providing highlevel technical leadership in Mineral Resource estimation and evaluation acting as a Competent/Qualified Person where required due diligence reviews/audits and contributing to technical standards across the business. Business development is key to this role including building trusted client relationships preparing proposals identifying opportunities and helping shape and grow SRKs resource geology offering.

Our successful candidate will be based out of our Perth office.

Main role duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver Mineral Resource estimates and evaluations geological models and supporting technical reports
  • Prepare and review technical reports public-domain reports proposals and due diligence reviews
  • Lead complex projects manage scope budgets timelines quality and client expectations
  • Act as a Competent Person / Qualified Person for public reporting
  • Contribute to SRKs technical reputation through industry engagement conferences and professional networks while building trusted client relationships and supporting business development
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior and mid-career consultants

Our successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in geoscience mathematics engineering or related discipline ideally with postgraduate studies in geostatistics
  • Strong professional experience (15 years) across resource geology Mineral Resource estimation and public reporting
  • Experience across multiple commodities and geological settings including mine geology and/or exploration
  • Demonstrable experience in modern estimation methods and techniques
  • A sound understanding of the JORC Code (and equivalent overseas public reporting codes VALMIN Code relevant listing rules and guidance notes for public reporting of Mineral Resources Exploration Results and Exploration Targets
  • Ability to act as a Competent Person / Qualified Person where required
  • Effective project management capability including scope budget schedule quality and client management
  • Ability to build strong client relationships prepare proposals and proven business development capabilities
  • Competency in more than one relevant geological modelling resource estimation or geostatistical software package
  • Confidence in using different or new technologies and the ability to upskill on new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to contribute to high quality technical reports
  • Australian Resident or existing Working Visa
  • Willingness to travel (domestic/international and possibly to remote locations)
