Job Summary

  • Employment Type: Full Time; 35 hours per week
  • Duration: Fixed Term until 30 June 2027
  • Remuneration: Professional Level 5 $92K- $104K (based on experience) 17% super annual leave loading
  • Location: Kensington Campus New South Wales. This is an onsite position.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold unrestricted work rights to be considered for this position.

Position Summary

The Research Assistant provides technical and administrative support to the Cardiometabolic Disease Research Group contributing to the successful delivery of research projects through the coordination of research activities data collection and analysis and stakeholder engagement.

The role is responsible for supporting research operations by maintaining research databases preparing ethics and grant documentation conducting statistical reporting and assisting with the preparation of project reports publications and presentations. Working closely with the Head of the Cardiometabolic Disease Research Group and Senior Postdoctoral Fellows the Research Assistant helps ensure research projects are delivered efficiently accurately and in accordance with relevant policies procedures and ethical requirements.

Some key skills required:

  • BSc (Hons) in biomedical science or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education training and experience.
  • Prior experience supporting a research project.
  • Demonstrated experience with the following:
    • Cell culture
    • Working with laboratory animals
  • Advanced time management organizational and problem-solving skills including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated computing skills including word processing (MS Word) spreadsheets (MS Excel) and statistical analysis packages.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
