We are currently recruiting for both Part-Time and Full-Time Registered Midwives to join our Birth Suite and Postnatal Units in East Melbourne.
With the opening of our newly refurbished 34 Postnatal Unit beds from October 2026 onwards this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and supportive team dedicated to delivering exceptional maternity care.

Epworth Freemasons one of Victorias leading maternity hospitals is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Midwives to join our Postnatal and Birth Suite Unit/s in East Melbourne.

- 9 purpose-built birth suites
- 10-bed Special Care Nursery (Level 5) for babies from 32 weeks onward
- 34-bed postnatal unit

Work alongside a dedicated team of midwives educators and healthcare professionals who prioritise patient-centred care and teamwork. Our Maternity Concierge ensures families receive personalised support from pregnancy through to discharge
What Youll Be Doing:
- Providing expert midwifery care to postnatal mothers and newborns including advice on feeding baby care and maternal recovery.
- Monitoring and assessing the health and wellbeing of both mother and baby addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring a seamless patient-centered experience through collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Role-modeling empathy compassion and professionalism in your interactions with patients and families.
- Continuously enhancing your skills by participating in ongoing education and staying current with best practices in maternity care.
What Were Looking For:
- AHPRA Registration as a Midwife (essential).
- Previous experience in a Birth Suite and/or Postnatal ward.
- Postgraduate qualification plus a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience or Completion of a Graduate Year plus 1 year of clinical experience.
- A strong understanding of contemporary maternity and newborn care practices.
- A passion for providing exceptional empathetic care to women and their families
- Available to work across a rotating roster covering Morning Afternoon and Night shifts
