The School Receptionist is the first point of contact for all visitors staff and students at Reddam House. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a welcoming professional and organised front office environment. The School Receptionist manages a wide range of administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the school ensuring smooth communication and effective handling of enquiries. The role contributes to the overall efficiency and image of the school.
This is a permanent term-time only position based at our Senior School campus on Mitchell Street Bondi.
- Greet and assist all visitors including parents students staff and external guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage incoming calls emails and other communications directing them to the appropriate departments or individuals.
- Handle student attendance records including late arrivals and early departures ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the schools management including handling correspondence scheduling appointments and filing.
- Assist with the organisation and distribution of school mail newsletters and other communications.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy welcoming and efficiently managed at all times.
- Assist with the coordination of school events meetings and functions as required.
- Liaise with staff parents and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and manage enquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the schools databases and ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Provide first aid support and manage the schools sick bay as needed ensuring that students are well cared for.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with school management systems (desirable).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle enquiries and issues efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate in Business Administration Office Administration or a related field (desirable).
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Working with Children Check.

- Availability to work during school hours and occasionally outside of regular hours for special events or meetings.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning relevant to the role.
