The Project
The ACCIONA-led consortium known as the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance will design build operate and maintain the future Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Perth for ten years. The Stage 1 design and construct project is scheduled to deliver drinking water in 2028 as part of an overall Water Corporation program of works valued at AU$2.8 billion
Alkimos Water Precinct - will help the region manage the combination of declining rainfall and population growth. Since 1970 winter rainfall in southwest Western Australia has decreased by about 20 per cent while Perths population - currently 2.12 million - is expected to reach 2.9 million by 2031 and 3.5 million by 2050 making it Australias third largest city and significantly increasing the demand for drinking water.
Were excited to be building this critical piece of infrastructure and to supply 50 billion litres of climate-resilient drinking water to the region.
About the opportunity:
The Quality Manager is responsible for the development implementation and maintenance of quality management systems to ensure project compliance with regulatory and industry standards. This role involves leading quality assurance and control activities conducting audits and inspections training staff on quality practices and collaborating with project teams to resolve quality issues.
The Quality Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives ensuring the highest standards of quality and workmanship throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
Translate sector and marketplace information into knowledge that can be used to affect quality
Guide the formulation of strategies policies and plans to address the requirements of standards and regulations
Influence stakeholders and build commitment for maintaining compliance with standards and regulations
Assess the impact efficiency and effectiveness of the approaches used to manage risks and opportunities in relation to compliance
Identify and address opportunities to build competence for quality across multiple business areas
Determine and design for process capability
Assess the impact efficiency and effectiveness of approaches used to manage risks and opportunities relating to process and project delivery
Manage risk assessment activities and assess the impact and effectiveness of assurance methods in relation to risk
Plan and manage the overall assurance scheme and assess its effectiveness
Guide the actions taken to prevent the recurrence of non-conformances
Seek to prevent failure by building quality in considering medium and long-term implications and uncertainties within their plans
Required Skills and Competencies
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience in quality assurance within large-scale infrastructure or construction environment
Knowledge of ISO 9001 AS 4801 ISO 14001
Demonstrated leadership experience within a similar role
Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
