Job Summary

As a Psychiatrist with Healthcare Australia you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments diagnoses and treatment plans for individuals in immigration detention. Working across a diverse and complex patient cohort you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient-centred mental health care.

You will collaborate closely with medical nursing and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated addition you will provide expert clinical advice and support to healthcare teams helping to guide the management of psychiatric conditions and treatment options across the network.

This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of mental health services through participation in education training and quality improvement initiatives. You will help ensure services are delivered in line with clinical governance frameworks regulatory requirements and organisational policies supporting safe and effective outcomes for patients.

This role is 2 days per week based on site at the Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre located in Broadmeadows.

In this role you will be committed to delivering high-quality mental health care and bring experience from complex clinical environments. Experience in forensic custodial or immigration health settings is highly regarded but not essential.

You will be confident working with culturally diverse and trauma-affected populations thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while contributing to ongoing service development.
