About the role:

This is a great opportunity for a procurement or commercial professional to work with the HCC and Commercial Property business. Reporting to the Executive Manager you will be involved in sourcing negotiating contracting and category management activity to ensure that they have relevant suppliers to help the business achieve its strategy of delivering best in class claims outcomes to customers and to be the leading trans-Tasman insurer.

This is an exciting time to be working in this space with huge advances in AI and technology being developed to determine the risk to peoples homes and businesses.

You will gain exposure to data analysis using latest cutting-edge technology Geospatial imagery and analytics weather forecasting data and the SCC platform that is critical in enabling the Disaster Management Centre to provide rapid insights particularly during natural hazard events and to triage Suncorps claims response.

You will need resilience and strong communication skills with the ability to hold tough conversations as well as data analysis skills in return you will work within a great team environment providing you with the support you need for this challenging role.

What youll do:

  • Partner with the business to manage categories source suppliers and oversee contracts.
  • Develop and optimise category management strategies for Suncorp Claims.
  • Analyse spend claims volume and market data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Manage supplier contracts risk performance SLAs and dispute resolution.
  • Deliver savings targets through effective category management and collaboration.
  • Advise support and educate key stakeholders on sourcing category management negotiation and contract development and management strategies
  • Execute contract changes (extensions variations terminations) aligned to business needs.
  • Identify and drive innovation continuous improvement and new sourcing opportunities.
  • Gather market intelligence and develop procurement solutions to reduce Average Claims Cost (ACS).

About you:

  • Experienced procurement professional with 5 years experience in procurement and an ability to educate advise and support stakeholders as necessary. Mandatory
  • Experience in Claims Procurement 2 years would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) negotiation skills and resilience
  • Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment collaborating across multiple stakeholders providing services to a broad customer base. Mandatory
  • Experienced in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results. Mandatory
  • Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework. Mandatory
  • Analytical business skills with an ability to produce coherent recommendations supported by the analysis
  • Experience in working with others in a (preferably commercial) strategy setting role. Mandatory
