On the back of continued growth and project success ourteam is looking for aPrincipal Process Engineer to join their team! In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the General Manager for Growth and Energy Transition with sector strategy development and securing of strategic energy transition related projects through early process engineering involvement and TIC calculations.
  • Acting as Verbrecs senior technical specialist for energy transition and low carbon energy providing discipline leadership technical direction and independent assurance across the sectors projects
  • Leading process engineering across the complete project lifecycle: ideation and opportunity framing pre-feasibility concept select FEED detailed design construction support commissioning start-up and operational readiness
  • Provide considered technical advice and recommendations on technology selection and comparison across bioenergy and biomass anaerobic digestion and biogas biomethane and renewable natural gas
  • Acting as Key Account Manager for nominated energy transition accounts and channel partners owning the client relationship and developing and overseeing the Strategic Pursuit Plan for each assigned account.
  • Maintaining an active profile in the Australian and New Zealand bioenergy and decarbonisation community including participation with relevant peak bodies and industry associations.

As a Principal Process Engineer you will provide discipline leadership and technical assurance on bioenergy gas conditioning and carbon capture projects across the complete project lifecycle. As such you will be required to demonstrate the following on an ongoing basis:

  • Bachelor degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia or chartered status with an equivalent professional institution such as the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the Chemical or Process discipline or eligibility to obtain registration promptly.
  • 15 or more years process engineering experience or recognition as an industry specialist with demonstrated performance at principal level.
  • Demonstrated experience across the complete project lifecycle for low carbon fuels projects from ideation and concept select through to commissioning and start-up.
  • Deep technical knowledge of current low carbon energy pathways including bioenergy and biomass anaerobic digestion and biogas biomethane and renewable natural gas biochar and pyrolysis gasification (including coal and waste feedstocks) carbon capture utilisation and storage hydrogen ammonia and methanol production gas conditioning and CH₄ and CO₂ separation technology options and low carbon liquid fuels including sustainable aviation fuel.
