Principal Hydraulic Engineer (Buildings)
Job Summary
Due to ongoing growth we are looking for a Principal (or Associate Director) level Hydraulic Engineer to join our diverse Building Engineering team.
This role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney.
- Act as the Hydraulics Lead on a range of projects working closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Lead the delivery of hydraulic designs and calculations including technical reviews and sign-off while delegating tasks and supporting the development of other engineers.
- Work directly with clients and project stakeholders to understand project requirements key drivers and constraints providing practical and cost-effective hydraulic solutions.
- Support the wider national Hydraulics team across a variety of projects and sectors working alongside experienced engineers and contributing to the delivery of complex building projects.
- Deliver a broad range of hydraulic design services including rainwater harvesting sanitary plumbing and drainage trade waste potable and non-potable water reticulation hot and warm water systems energy-efficient and solar hot water systems specialist water systems such as reverse osmosis and demineralised water and water-efficient design.
Qualifications :

The qualities that help you thrive:
- Ideally 10 years experience in hydraulic engineering within a consulting environment with a strong understanding of Australian Standards codes and industry requirements.
- Relevant engineering degree or TAFE qualification with RPEQ/RPEV registration or the ability to obtain it.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with clients project teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite with experience using relevant industry software. Revit experience is preferred but not essential.
- Australian Citizenship or being on the pathway to Australian Citizenship is highly preferred due to the requirements of some of our projects.
