Platform Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure automation and CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining scalable AWS environments while ensuring high availability security and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design implement and maintain highly available AWS-based platform infrastructure.
• Manage containerized applications running on Amazon ECS (EC2 and/or Fargate).
• Troubleshoot production incidents involving application performance latency availability and infrastructure failures.
• Monitor and optimize ECS clusters Auto Scaling Groups load balancers and cloud resources.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation or equivalent).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and releases.
• Configure and manage observability platforms including logging monitoring alerting and dashboards.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability scalability and deployment practices.
• Implement cloud security governance and operational best practices.
• Drive platform automation and reduce manual operational activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer DevOps Engineer Cloud Engineer or SRE.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:
  • ECS
  • EC2
  • ALB/NLB
  • CloudWatch
  • Auto Scaling
  • IAM
  • VPC Networking
• Experience managing containerized applications using Docker and ECS/Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of application performance troubleshooting memory management and resource optimization.
• Experience investigating production incidents involving:
  • High latency
  • 5xx errors
  • Application crashes
  • Memory leaks
  • Capacity constraints
• Expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions GitLab CI Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong scripting skills using Python Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch Datadog Grafana Splunk Prometheus or ELK.

Desired Experience

• Experience with production troubleshooting of ECS workloads and container lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of OOM (Out of Memory) analysis application tuning and JVM/Container resource optimization.
• Experience with Blue/Green and Canary deployment strategies.
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Experience implementing autoscaling strategies using CPU memory and application-level metrics.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
