Planner (HumeLink West)

Two CIMIC Group companies UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high-voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW significantly increasing the capacity of the electricity network across Australias eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australias largest energy infrastructure projects comprising approximately 365km of new transmission lines and associated infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works valued at $1.4 billion includes the delivery of new 500kV double-circuit transmission lines spanning approximately 140km from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa the interface point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Planner to join the HumeLink West team.

Reporting to the Planning Manager this role is responsible for the effective coordination development implementation and monitoring of project planning and scheduling activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives through accurate programming forecasting reporting and stakeholder collaboration.

• Demonstrating a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework Policies Safety Essentials and Management System requirements.
• Developing and maintaining an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrating a commitment to eliminating or minimising those risks.
• Understanding and effectively undertaking SHE accountabilities.
• Developing maintaining and updating design and construction programs that reflect agreed methodologies key activities milestones and constraints.
• Ensuring contractual obligations and project controls requirements are identified understood and followed.
• Supporting the identification and management of project risks and opportunities.
• Updating and maintaining project schedules master programs forecasts and reporting requirements.
• Liaising with construction personnel to ensure site progress is accurately reflected in project schedules.
• Assisting with monthly program reviews and preparing project scheduling reports.
• Supporting subcontractor and supplier program reviews to ensure alignment with contractual requirements.
• Contributing to resource planning allocation and quantity tracking across project disciplines.
• Assisting with time impact assessments for project variations and subcontractor claims.
• Preparing staging documentation and supporting project meetings and reviews.
• Maintaining clear and concise communication with project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensuring planning processes and controls are implemented in accordance with company management systems and contractual requirements.
• Supporting tender program preparation and providing input into continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes and technologies.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal regulatory company and group requirements.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering Construction Management Project Management or a related discipline or relevant trade qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure civil rail energy transmission or building projects ideally with experience in project delivery planning.
• Previous experience as a Graduate Engineer Site Engineer Project Engineer Planner or similar role.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other planning and scheduling software such as Microsoft Project Asta Powerproject Synchro Navisworks SketchUp TILOS OPRA or similar.
• Understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM) project scheduling and program management principles.
• Experience in schedule reporting performance measurement dashboards and KPIs.
• Knowledge of Schedule Reliability Analysis Earned Value Management Design Planning Schedule Risk Analysis Last Planner or Forensic Planning will be highly regarded.
• Strong analytical problem-solving organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with project teams clients consultants and subcontractors.
• Exposure to large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with 4D Planning and BIM methodologies will be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
