About the Role
Position Title: Physiotherapist Assistant
Reporting To: Physiotherapist Lead
Employment Type: Full-Time Monday to Friday AM shifts.
As a Physiotherapist Assistant you will play a vital role in providing safe evidence-based person-centered care consistent with the ABHs Mission and Values.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in the safe and effective implementation of individual and group exercise programs developed by the physiotherapist to maintain residents independence and functional mobility.
- Obtaining resident feedback monitoring progress and keeping the Physiotherapist informed to update care plans.
- Implementing pain management programs in a safe and effective manner as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Interacting with residents in a kind caring and respectful way ensuring they are treated with dignity and supported to maintain their identity and independence.
- Complying with the Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (2025).
What Were Looking For
Knowledge Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Understanding of the needs of the elderly.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding and ability to apply safe work practices and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Basic computer literacy and good verbal/written English communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role assisting the elderly or disabled.
- Dementia-specific knowledge or training.
Qualifications Licenses & Registrations
Essential:
- Relevant Certificate IV or higher in Allied Health Assistance Massage or equivalent.
- First Aid Certificate.
- National Police Check and evidence of legal entitlement to work in Australia.
