Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced OSHC Assistant Coordinator to join Our Place the Outside School Hours Care service at Sheldon College.

Working closely with the Our Place Coordinator and Director of Early Learning you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the service delivering engaging programs and fostering positive outcomes for children families and educators. You will assist in mentoring and supporting co-educators contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement and help ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework V2.

This role includes responsibility for student safety and wellbeing requiring compliance with the Colleges Child Safe Standards policies and procedures and all relevant legislative and duty of care obligations.

This is a permanent part-time position Approximately 24 hours per week with flexibility to increase hours to support operational needs vacation care programs and upcoming leave coverage.

About You

  • Passion for quality teaching and learning and the ability to translate this into a challenging learning environment with strong student engagement and excellent outcomes.
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) or currently working towards/completed a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
  • Demonstrated experience within an OSHC Early Childhood or school-aged care environment
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework V2
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging programs that support childrens wellbeing learning and development
  • Strong leadership mentoring and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children families and colleagues
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and reflective practice
  • High standards of professionalism integrity and ethical conduct
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as required to support operational needs

Child Safety and Wellbeing

  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain prior to commencement
  • Current First Aid CPR Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management certifications or ability to obtain
  • Commitment to upholding child safety duty of care and appropriate professional conduct within an education and care environment
  • Ability to comply with and uphold the Colleges Child Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures
  • Completion of mandatory Child Protection and Child Safety and Wellbeing training
About Our Place

The purpose of our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program is to provide a safe and enjoyable place for children to be when they need to be cared for outside of the Colleges core hours of operation.

The service is twofold in that it aims to serve children in our community by providing a safe place where children can opt to work rest or play in which the values align completely with Sheldon College. Secondly the service is for the parents who require care for their children in a context that is a continuation of the childrens day and one that is within the College grounds.

The three services offered at Our Place OSHC for students in Preparatory onwards from 6:30am to 6:15pm are:

  • Before College Care
  • After College Care
  • Vacation Care (including Student Free Day Care)

During Vacation Care periods we offer a wide variety of exciting and educational activities from 6:30am to 6:15pm daily such as arts crafts cooking indoor and outdoor play.
