About the Role
Title: NSW Facilitation Lead
Salary: $70000$100000
Location: Sydney
FTE: 0.61.0 FTE
Contract: Fixed-term contract for an initial period of 24 months.
This role is intended to support Together For Humanitys ongoing work. While the position is currently offered on a fixed-term basis future employment opportunities may be considered in line with organisational needs funding and performance.
The State Facilitation Lead is responsible for the quality and consistency of TFHs program facilitation within their state leading a team of facilitators and ensuring every student and teacher who experiences a TFH program receives an engaging high-quality culturally responsive session delivered against TFHs national program suite.
This is a role for an experienced confident facilitator who leads by example: someone who sets the standard for program delivery brings others up to that standard and builds genuine connection within a dispersed casual team. The State Facilitation Lead works closely with the State Education Coordinator and the national education team to ensure programs are implemented and that insights from the ground inform ongoing improvement.
Reporting & Accountability
- Reports to: State Education Coordinator
- Direct reports: Casual facilitators contractors and volunteers
- Works closely with: State Education Coordinator Professional Learning Manager Online Learning Manager Operations Team
- Employment type: Fixed contract 0.61.0 FTE (minimum three days per week)
- Location: Sydney with the ability to travel to schools and project sites. A drivers license and access to a car is required. Intermittent regional and interstate travel may be required.
Key Relationships
- State Education Coordinator: Direct line manager; accountability strategic direction operational support.
- Casual Facilitator Team: Central leadership relationship: recruiting training rostering supporting.
- Professional Learning Manager: Collaboration on delivery of teacher PL in the state including co-facilitation where appropriate.
- Online Learning Manager: Sharing observations from sessions to inform digital resource development.
- Operations Team: Bookings scheduling facilitator invoicing and payments.
- Community Organisations: Relationship-building to identify and recruit facilitators.
Key Responsibilities
Program Facilitation & Quality
- Lead a team to facilitate TFH programs within the state modelling high-quality culturally responsive delivery from the national program suite.
- Liaise with schools facilitator teams and TFH administration to coordinate program logistics.
- Lead team reflection document key takeaways and share program reflections with the Marketing and Comms team via Beacon.
- Support delivery of teacher PL with the State Education Coordinator in the state with strategic leadership from the Professional Learning Manager.
- Support delivery of regional outreach plans including youth summits set by the State Education Coordinator.
- Feed observations and program delivery insights back to the State Education Coordinator and where relevant the Education Operations Manager and Professional Learning Manager for national suite improvement.
Facilitator Team Leadership
- Lead recruitment onboarding training and deployment of a diverse and skilled casual facilitator team including in regional locations.
- Build and sustain a cohesive team culture among casual and dispersed facilitators.
- Review facilitator hours invoices and payments with the Operations team.
- Ensure all facilitators hold current WWCCs and meet safeguarding requirements in collaboration with the administration team.
Stakeholder Relationships
- Develop and nurture relationships with community-based faith cultural and other organisations to recruit facilitators.
- Support the State Education Coordinator with broader stakeholder engagement as required.
Monitoring Evaluation & Learning
- Ensure all required records are completed accurately in Beacon CRM.
- Plan and lead team debriefings supporting structured reflection on feedback and impact data.
- Share observations and insights from program delivery with the national education team.
Organisational Administration & Leadership
- Contribute to organisational direction-setting and planning processes.
- Contribute to TFHs Reconciliation Action Plan building relationships with First Nations communities and organisations and ensuring programs are culturally safe and responsive
About You
- Recent teaching experience in NSW schools or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitation with confidence leading engaging culturally sensitive sessions with diverse groups of students and teachers.
- Experience recruiting training and managing a casual or dispersed team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a warm inclusive leadership style.
- Knowledge or experience of intercultural understanding working with young people.
- Adaptability and sound judgement in program delivery.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail particularly in facilitator scheduling logistics and records.
- Familiarity with Beacon CRM or similar data management tools or demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong networks in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities faith or other key cultural communities.
- Current WWCC (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Tertiary qualifications in education or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to TFHs mission of building understanding across cultural and religious differences.
