About the role

Were looking for a hands-on Pipeline Operator to join our Gladstone-based team supporting the safe operation and maintenance of the Queensland Gas Pipeline (QGP) and associated facilities.

This is a diverse field-based role where no two days are the same. You could be carrying out mechanical maintenance on compressors valves and gas processing equipment conducting pipeline patrols responding to asset issues or supporting major improvement projects.

Youll join a close-knit team responsible for maintaining approximately 900km of critical gas pipeline infrastructure. With significant investment planned to extend the life of the QGP youll have the opportunity to contribute to asset renewal projects while building long-term skills within the gas transmission industry.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance on pipeline and facility assets
  • Conduct pipeline patrols inspections and asset surveillance activities
  • Operate and maintain gas transmission equipment
  • Respond to incidents and support emergency response activities
  • Liaise with contractors landholders and key stakeholders
  • Support project delivery commissioning and contractor supervision
  • Contribute to the safe and reliable operation of critical gas infrastructure

Roster: 9-day fortnight (supporting worklife balance) and participation in an on-call roster.

About You

Youre a motivated and reliable team player who enjoys working in the field and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. To be successful youll bring:

  • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or Certificate III Gas Supply Industry Operations
  • Experience in maintenance operations or asset management within gas energy processing resources utilities or similar industries
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Current Drivers Licence and White Card
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A proactive approach to safety problem-solving and continuous improvement
