Were looking for a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team and help drive innovation in laboratory automation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge solutions that support the medical industry and improve lives around the world.

As part of our dynamic and collaborative environment youll play a key role in designing and developing products that truly make a difference.

What youll do:

  • Be a lead in the design and development of high-quality machinery solutions including concept design detailed CAD models using PTC Creo 2D manufacturing drawings prototype builds testing validation and transfer to manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams customers and suppliers to drive new product development and support the existing product range.

  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation to support design manufacturing and compliance requirements.

  • Prototype and test mechanical designs to ensure performance reliability and adherence to industry standards.

  • Support manufacturing and assembly providing hands-on technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers sharing your knowledge and experience to foster growth and innovation within the team.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement identifying opportunities to enhance product performance reduce costs and streamline processes.

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.


What youll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical Medical Mechatronics) Industrial Design or a related discipline.

  • 7 years of experience in product design engineering with hands-on expertise in developing automation products featuring electro-mechanical components such as motors gears pulleys and sensorsideally within machinery small appliances or materials handling industries.

  • Strong capability in detailed part/component design including tolerance stack-ups and custom part development (not just catalogue selection).

  • Creative problem-solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking to develop innovative solutions.

  • Proficiency in developing 2D manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo with knowledge of GD&T highly desirable.

  • Solid understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques and how they influence design decisions.

  • Proven experience in new product development from conceptual design through to production release.

  • A proactive approach to mentoring and supporting junior engineers contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to share ideas solve problems and build productive relationships.

  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality safety and compliance in all aspects of your work.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously manage priorities and consistently deliver results within agreed timeframes.

  • A passion for innovation and staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
