Whats the role
Youll join Westpacs Transaction Monitoring & Analytics team helping strengthen the way we identify and respond to financial crime risks. Youll provide specialist advice on transaction monitoring and work closely with Financial Crime Compliance Operations Risk and project teams to keep our detection capabilities effective and aligned with regulatory obligations.
In this role youll help design and refine transaction monitoring rules assess new financial crime risk indicators and review the impact of proposed changes. Youll also support the governance of the Transaction Monitoring Program by maintaining clear documentation registers and workflows.
Youll bring teams together to review controls identify practical improvements and support changes from development through to implementation. This is an opportunity to use your financial crime knowledge analytical thinking and stakeholder skills to make a meaningful contribution to how Westpac protects its customers and the wider community.
This is a fulltime/permanent role based in Sydney
What do I need
Youll bring practical transaction monitoring experience sound judgement and the confidence to work through complex financial crime matters with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of transaction monitoring AML/CTF obligations and emerging financial crime risks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess rules controls risk indicators and proposed changes.
- Experience developing or improving operational processes controls governance documents and workflows.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills including the ability to provide practical specialist advice.
- Familiarity with banking products and data analysis tools such as SQL SAS or Excel would be beneficial but isnt essential.
