Manager Business Controls

As our valued Senior Risk Advisor Business Controls youll partner with leaders across our Chief Customer Office to strengthen the way we identify manage and improve risk.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business youll provide practical advice and guidance that helps teams make confident decisions manage regulatory obligations and continually improve their control environment. Youll play an important role in ensuring risk is managed proactively enabling the business to deliver great outcomes for our customers while supporting sustainable growth.

Youll also help drive continuous improvement by identifying emerging risks strengthening controls and supporting the implementation of effective risk management practices across the division.

Youll make an impact by:

• Partnering with business leaders to embed effective risk management practices into day-to-day operations.
• Providing practical advice and guidance on risk controls and regulatory obligations to support informed business decisions.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of key controls and supporting the ongoing improvement of the divisions risk and compliance environment.
• Investigating incidents and control breakdowns identifying root causes and working with stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.
• Supporting the delivery and maintenance of compliance plans and ensuring key obligations remain appropriately managed.
• Identifying emerging risks regulatory changes and opportunities to strengthen business processes and controls.
• Promoting a positive risk culture by coaching influencing and building capability across the business.

This isnt a role where youll simply monitor risk from the sidelines. Youll work alongside leaders and teams across the Chief Customer Office helping them navigate complex decisions while balancing customer outcomes commercial priorities and regulatory requirements.

Whether youre helping improve controls supporting strategic initiatives or identifying opportunities to simplify the way we work your advice will directly influence how we deliver better outcomes for our customers.

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Experience in operational risk business controls compliance audit or a similar governance role within financial services or another regulated industry.
• A strong understanding of operational risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to identify risks strengthen controls and improve business outcomes.
• The ability to investigate incidents identify root causes and develop practical sustainable solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance commercial outcomes with sound risk management.
• Knowledge of industry frameworks and governance standards such as the Three Lines Model ISO 31000 or APRA Prudential Standards would be highly regarded.
