The Digital Library Services team supports the suite of technologies that underpin the Librarys delivery of resources and services to the Griffith community. Working within a collaborative and innovative team the Library Officer Research Content and Repositories will support the management curation and discoverability of a diverse range of research outputs and digital content. Our institutional repositories play a critical role in increasing the visibility accessibility and impact of Griffith research while supporting compliance with open access requirements national reporting obligations and research integrity standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a range of services across institutional repositories including acquiring and processing research outputs from multiple sources ensuring high quality and industry best practice metadata standards and curation methods are applied
  • Design configure and maintain automated processing and batch ingest workflows to manage large volumes of research outputs including system integrations and APIs file handling validation quality control and metadata standardisation and enrichment
  • Obtain analyse and track statistics and contribute accurate repository and research output data including the verification and maintenance of publication records to support internal and external reporting and data collection obligations
  • Provide specialist operational advice and advocacy to researchers academic staff and University stakeholders on repository workflows metadata standards licensing open access benefits and requirements and repository workflows and automated processes
  • Contribute to repository maintenance and functional testing of system upgrades enhancements and workflow changes documenting outcomes and recommending improvements

About you

  • Experience working with research outputs and institutional repositories with a strong understanding of metadata standards content curation and repository best practices.
  • Skilled in designing and maintaining automated workflows and system integrations with experience using APIs managing large datasets and applying rigorous quality assurance and metadata enhancement processes.
  • Possess strong analytical and data management skills with a proven ability to maintain accurate records monitor usage metrics and produce reliable data for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • An effective communicator who can confidently provide expert guidance on repository services metadata licensing and open access requirements to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused with experience testing system enhancements documenting outcomes troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What we can offer

This is a full-time continuing position primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range

The full-time base salary is HEW 5 $82415 - $92456 per annum. Salary package includes 17% employer superannuation $96426 - $108174.


Qualifications :

Completion of either a library and/or information management degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
