Library Assistant (Part-Time 22.8 hours per week)

Be a part of the vibrant team at PJ Walsh Library! Were seeking a self-motivated individual to join us as a part-time Library Assistant. With three full days of work 22.8 hours a week (Monday Tuesday and Wednesday) during term time youll play an integral role in fostering a culture of learning and discovery within our College.
As a member of our dynamic library team youll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our students and staff by delivering exceptional library services. Under the guidance of our Academic Head of Library youll collaborate with colleagues in a positive and engaging environment ensuring that our library remains a hub for learning and exploration.

The Library Assistant will:
- Assist students and staff in locating library materials and provide information about library resources and services.
- Perform circulation activities including checking in and out library materials using our library management system.
- Support the cataloging and processing of new library materials including labeling and covering books.
- Provide technical support including assistance with library computers and online resources.
- Supervise small groups of students.
- Assist in planning and facilitating library events and programs that enrich academic experience.
- Collaborate with library staff to ensure the library space is clean welcoming and conducive to learning.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A library or related degree qualification.
- Experience working in a library environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively with students and staff in the College Library.
- Sound literacy skills.
- Demonstrate strong organisational abilities.
- Have an exceptional eye for detail.
- A clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School.
