Whats the Role:

This role is part of WestpacsUNITE initiative focused on simplifying the mortgage servicing landscape by consolidating multiple applications into a single platform. As part of this initiative a key phase involves largescale data migration for which we are expanding the team.

The role requires strong expertise inETL frameworks and data engineering practices along with the ability to provide technical oversight. This includes reviewing the work of Data/ETL developers and ensuring high standards ofendtoend data delivery quality and integrityacross the migration process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end database migration initiatives owning strategy design execution and governance across legacy and modern platforms.
  • Provide senior technical oversight to ensure data integrity security performance and compliance throughout migration lifecycle.
  • Design and validate migration architectures source-to-target mappings cutover strategies and target state improvements.
  • Manage risks dependencies and rollback planning while ensuring data accuracy reconciliation and consistency post-migration.
  • Collaborate across engineering and delivery teams mentor engineers and produce high-quality documentation runbooks and artefacts.

What do I need

  • Strong experience with enterprise data migration and ETL tools (e.g. Informatica or similar) including building custom migration frameworks and scripts.
  • Proven ability to migrate data across complex heterogeneous environments (e.g. Oracle SQL Server legacy to modern platforms).
  • Deep understanding of data validation reconciliation migration testing and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills with ability to influence outcomes at a senior level and work across multiple teams.
  • Exposure to mainframe environments (VSAM/IAM) cloud or hybrid platforms and experience with automation CI/CD performance tuning and integration-heavy ecosystems.
