We have a newopportunity for an experienced Lawyer or Associate to join ourthriving General Insurance practice in Sydney working with ahighly regarded team.

This rolewill focus on property matters (both liability and defence) aswell as other general insurance matters including some professionalindemnity exposure. You will work for a range of leadingnational and international insurers. You will be responsible forand have carriage of your own files with appropriatesupervision.

Our nationalGeneral Insurance team is one of the largest insurance teams inAustralia and consistently recognised as a leader. We sit on thelegal panels of Australias top general insurers as well as anumber of other local and international insurers.

We embrace AIand work extensively with it where clientspermit.

You will beresponsible for:

• drafting client advices;
• reviewing documents and preparation of evidence;
• legal research;
• drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties;
• conference with witnesses and prepare witness statements;
• preparing briefs for counsel;
• drafting Court documents and attendance at Court; and
• drafting letters of instruction to experts and conferencing with them.

Aboutyou

You willideally have the following skills and experience:

• at least 18 months of post-admission experience in general insurance law (such as recoveries liability defence professional indemnity);
• strong experience acting in recoveries and property damage liability claims will be highly regarded;
• clear concise legal writing skills and outstanding attention to detail; and
• a team player with a can do attitude and a strong interest in defendant insurance law.
