Job Summary

AJC Architects is seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer to join our team supporting projects across our Living and Learning sectors you will working closely with interior designers architects clients and consultants to contribute to the creation of thoughtful functional and inspiring environments that enhance the way people live learn and connect.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong design sensibility excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute across all stages of a project from concept design through to documentation and delivery. Experience in materials finishes furniture selection and FF&E coordination will be highly regarded.

Proficiency in Revit strong documentation skills and a keen eye for detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and contribute to innovative interior design concepts from brief development through to project delivery.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations design development packages and project documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with Studio Directors clients consultants and project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage project deliverables to meet program requirements budgets and project outcomes.
  • Research source and specify materials finishes fixtures furniture and FF&E that align with the project vision and client brief.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through clear communication and design presentations.
  • Participate in client meetings consultant workshops and site inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the delivery of projects by resolving design and technical challenges with a practical and creative approach.
  • Contribute to a collaborative studio culture by sharing knowledge and working closely with team members across disciplines.
  • Maintain high standards of design quality accuracy and attention to detail across all stages of a project.
  • Utilise Revit and Adobe Creative Suite to produce design documentation presentations and visual communication materials.
  • Stay informed of industry trends emerging design practices and sustainable design principles to support innovative project outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • 13-year proven experience delivering high-quality interior design projects ideally across multi-residential high-end residential hospitality and mixed-use sectors.
  • Strong design capability with the ability to develop creative concepts and carry them through to successful project delivery.
  • Experience working directly with clients consultants and stakeholders building trusted relationships and presenting design solutions with confidence.
  • Well-developed technical knowledge and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve design challenges in a practical and innovative way.
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and a commitment to creating thoughtful people-focused spaces.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Strong communication presentation and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to design excellence.
  • Positive attitude adaptability and a passion for creating exceptional design outcomes.
