About the opportunity

Join Bolton Clarke as our IS Cyber Security Operations Lead supporting the proactive identification monitoring investigation and response to cyber security threats. Reporting to the ICT Security Architect you will oversee day-to-day cyber defence operations including SOC capability incident response threat intelligence vulnerability management and continuous improvement of security monitoring practices.

Key activities

  • Lead cyber security operations across monitoring detection response and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee SOC capability and managed service providers ensuring effective service delivery and SLA performance.
  • Lead cyber incident response activities including triage investigation containment eradication and recovery.
  • Oversee vulnerability scanning prioritisation and remediation tracking across enterprise IT systems.
  • Implement tune and optimise security monitoring tools including SIEM EDR identity security and SASE.
  • Report on security posture incidents and key risk indicators while supporting audit and governance requirements.

About you

A confident cyber security operations professional with strong incident response threat detection and stakeholder engagement capability. You bring the technical depth to manage security operations in a complex environment while translating cyber risks into clear business context for leaders technology teams and governance forums.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven experience leading cyber security operations SOC functions threat detection or incident response activities.
  • Strong knowledge of security monitoring incident response vulnerability management and cyber defence practices.
  • Experience with enterprise security platforms such as SIEM EDR IAM/Entra ID cloud security tools or SASE.
  • Sound understanding of security frameworks including ISO 27001 NIST and the Essential Eight.
  • Ability to manage cyber incidents in regulated environments and provide risk-based recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to report clearly to senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Cyber Security Information Technology or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP CISM GCIA GCIH or equivalent will be highly regarded.
