Our client is a specialist construction estimating firm supporting subcontractors commercial builders and quantity surveyors across Australia. They provide accurate independent cost insights that reduce risk and enable smarter project decisions backed by a practical trade-aligned understanding of how projects are truly built. With fast turnarounds and structured documentation theyre growing rapidly and building out a strong experienced estimating team.

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare accurate detailed estimates and tender submissions across a range of commercial construction projects while leading the commercial arm of the business and stepping into a more senior mentoring capacity within the team.

Reporting directly to the Business Director/Owner your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and growing the commercial estimating arm of the business
• Ensuring tenders are prepared and submitted accurately and on time
• Supporting and mentoring junior estimators as they develop their skills
• Analysing bid documents to identify risks and opportunities for client reviews
• Preparing detailed trade breakups bills of quantities and full tender submissions
• Sourcing negotiating and securing competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Managing tenders independently from initial documentation through to final submission
• Reviewing drawings and specifications including structural (concrete earthworks) fit-out and refurbishment scopes to confirm documentation and define scope

The successful candidate will have:

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident status
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
• A desire to progress into a Senior Estimator role and grow with the business
• Hands-on experience using Cubit or CostX essential (Cubit highly regarded)
• Experience tendering on structural projects (concrete earthworks) and/or fit-out and refurbishment projects
• 3 years commercial construction estimating experience (or relevant trade experience for junior candidates)
• A genuine trade background highly desirable; candidates with strong trade experience but less estimating tenure will also be considered
• Confidence managing tenders independently start to finish the depth of this experience will determine whether youre best suited to our Intermediate or Senior opening
