We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our in-office team in Townsville.
This is an In-office full time position
About the Role
This is an opportunity to manage your own client portfolio while continuing to develop your technical expertise and advisory capability.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements and tax returns for SMEs trusts and partnerships
Review junior team members work and provide coaching support
Liaise directly with clients on accounting and tax queries
Assist with tax planning and advisory projects
Contribute commercially-minded ideas to improve client outcomes
Manage workflow with accountability for quality and timeliness
Lead initiatives in Tax Business Advisory or Financial Services specialisations
This role suits someone who enjoys both technical excellence and meaningful client relationships.
About You:
Essential Requirements:
Australian Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
4 years of Australian public practice accounting experience
Solid knowledge of accounting standards and Australian tax legislation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage workflows independently and mentor junior team members
Strong communication and client relationship skills both written and verbal
Experience in Tax Business Advisory or Financial Services
Desirable:
CA/CPA qualifications (completed or currently undertaking)
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
