ICN Victoria is an independent organisation supported by the Victorian Government. Since 1984 weve helped connect local businesses with opportunities on major projects supporting jobs industry growth and stronger local supply chains.

Were looking for an Industry Capability Adviser to join our team. This is a diverse role combining industry research stakeholder engagement project management and supply chain analysis to help maximise local business participation in major projects.

About the role

Youll work with project owners government agencies industry associations and businesses to identify local supply chain capability and create opportunities for Victorian suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and analysing industry sectors and supply chains
  • Identifying local supplier capability capacity and market opportunities
  • Managing and analysing data to generate insights and recommendations
  • Supporting major project owners to meet local procurement objectives. The role will have a transport sector focus but experience in this sector is not a requirement.
  • Building strong relationships with industry and government stakeholders
  • Representing ICN Victoria at industry events and forums
  • Managing industry capability mapping and research projects

About you

You may be:

  • An analyst researcher or engineering graduate with a few years experience
  • A supply chain procurement manufacturing or sales professional looking for a broader purpose-driven role
  • Someone ready to move into stakeholder engagement or account management

Most importantly youll be curious analytical relationship-focused and passionate about supporting local businesses.

You will also bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • The ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
  • Experience using Excel and CRM or database systems (Power BI is highly regarded)
  • A genuine interest in supporting local industry and economic development
  • A proactive collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to ICN Victorias mission of helping local businesses succeed
