Head of Technology, Consumer Finance

Whats the role

AtWestpac were building the future of banking through technology thats simpler smarter and more customer-focused. As Head of Technology Consumer Finance youll play a pivotal leadership role in shaping how millions of customers experience our consumer finance products every day.

Reporting to the CIO Consumer & UNITE youll hold responsibility for technology strategy engineering excellence and technical outcomes for the Consumer Finance Delivery Unit. Overseeing a large-scale engineering and technology function you will be responsible for both run and change outcomes. Youll ensure our Consumer Finance platforms remain secure scalable and customer-centric.

Youll partner closely with senior business leaders product owners risk architecture and enterprise technology teams to deliver meaningful outcomes that support Westpacs strategic priorities. From modernising platforms and driving engineering capability to leading major change initiatives youll be at the forefront of transforming how Consumer Finance serves customers.

This is a role for a strategic technology executive who has a solid engineering background who can navigate complexity inspire high-performing teams and create an environment where innovation accountability and customer outcomes go hand in hand. Youll lead through influence drive a strong risk and control culture and ensure technology remains a key enabler of growth operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Success in this role will see you delivering reliable technology services leading significant programs of work strengthening operational resilience uplifting engineering capability and ensuring Consumer Finance technology continues to evolve in line with the needs of customers regulators and the broader business.

What do I need

• Experience leading technology and solutions delivery teams within financial services organisations
• Proven success developing and executing technology strategies that deliver measurable business and customer outcomes
• Exceptional executive stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and partner at Group Executive and GM level.
• Deep experience leading technology delivery including platform modernisation digital transformation and large-scale change programs.
• Strong understanding of technology risk operational resilience cyber security governance and regulatory obligations.
• Track record of building and leading large -scale high-performing engineering technology and delivery teams
• Commercially astute leader with experience prioritising investment balancing risk and delivering value at scale.
