Whats the role
This is a rare opportunity where youll help shape how one of Australias largest financial institutions makes some of its most critical decisions.
As Head of Data & Intelligence - Credit Risk Treasury & Finance youll lead the strategy execution and evolution of data analytics and intelligence capabilities across some of the banks most important functions. Youll partner with senior executives across Credit Risk Treasury Finance and Technology to ensure data is trusted accessible and transformed into insights that drive better outcomes for customers stronger risk management and smarter financial decisions.
Youll bring together data strategy governance analytics regulatory obligations and innovation into a single vision. From strengthening the quality and integrity of enterprise data through to enabling advanced intelligence and AI-driven decision support youll be at the centre of how Westpac manages risk capital liquidity and financial performance.
This is a highly visible leadership role where youll influence enterprise-wide priorities challenge conventional thinking and build the capabilities that will define the future of data-led decision making across Credit Risk Treasury and Finance.
What do I need
To be successful in this role youll bring:
- Proven executive leadership experience leading large-scale Data Analytics Intelligence and Data Management functions within banking or financial services with accountability for strategic outcomes and enterprise transformation.
- Deep expertise across Credit Risk Treasury and Finance with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations risk management capital liquidity and financial reporting environments.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise data strategies including data governance data quality controls and trusted decision-making frameworks.
- Experience influencing executive stakeholders and partnering across business risk and technology functions to deliver strategic and commercially meaningful outcomes.
- A track record of building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams across data analytics engineering and intelligence disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms advanced analytics and AI with the ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical business value at enterprise scale.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making capability with the ability to translate complex landscapes into clear business priorities.
- A track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of collaboration accountability innovation and responsible AI adoption.
