Allied Credit is seeking a Financial Accountant to report to the Senior Finance Manager. This position will focus on financial processes and reporting for the group companies and will involve supporting the wider team with change management and process improvement to deliver standardised group level reporting. The role will work closely with Treasury FP&A Tax and Cash Operations functions and involve close co-ordination to ensure reporting accuracy timeliness and presentation are delivered and continually improved across all companies.

Responsibilities

• Holding ownership of month-end financial close including journal preparation and posting TBreview financial statements and reporting dashboard preparation with executive summary.
• Supporting financial processes including month-end reconciliations and regulatory submissions.
• Ensuring deadlines for monthly board reporting are met for Group and JV partners.
• Trending and forecasting including commentary and variance analysis in board packs.
• Holding ownership of accounting policy and technical accounting updates and processes.
• Hands-on with overseeing transactional accounting work.
• Assisting preparation of annual statutory accounts.
• Liaising with external auditors and assist annual audit.
• Reporting improvements and external investor communication support.
• Working effectively with the internal stakeholders to support processes improvement.

Who are you

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting with CA or CPA accreditation completed/ partially completed.
• Technical accounting skills with Australian accounting standards (AASB/IFSA) and experience with Statutory reporting (ASIC) and Regulatory reporting (APRA) is highly desired.
• Solid experience in overall general accounting ideally from the banking/financial services industry and/or a large accounting consultancy.
• Understanding of structured finance/securitisation (i.e. Trusts and Joint Ventures) and financial instruments would be highly regarded.
• Experience in preparing and reporting Group consolidated accounts and Listed Group reporting would be highly valued.
• Strong technical accounting skills with Australian GAAP and IFRS is required to demonstrateexperience of writing and implementing accounting standards into company policy and processes.
• Strong communication skills especially written with the ability to draft Board packs.
• Experience in medium/large ERP system (e.g. Sage Intacct) would be viewed favourably.
