Job Summary

Environmental Manager

Bielby isexperiencing a period of sustained growth supported by a strong pipeline ofinfrastructure projects and continued expansion into new regions. Building onover 40 years of successful delivery across major infrastructure projects weare seeking an accomplished Environmental Manager to join our team andplay a critical role in the delivery of a major $400M regional road restorationproject.

Initially basedin Sydney during the design phase this role offers the opportunity tolead environmental strategy compliance and sustainability outcomes on ahigh-profile regional infrastructure project while helping shape Bielbysenvironmental capability and long-term growth across NSW.

Workingclosely with project leadership clients regulatory authorities and siteteams you will ensure environmental performance is embedded in every stage ofproject delivery from planning and approvals through to construction andproject completion.

What Youll Do

  • Lead environmental management and compliance across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental approvals licence conditions project specifications and legislative requirements.
  • Develop implement and continuously improve project environmental management plans and systems.
  • Establish strong relationships with regulatory bodies government agencies clients and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor environmental performance and lead auditing reporting and assurance activities.
  • Manage environmental risks associated with large-scale regional infrastructure construction.
  • Provide expert advice to project teams on environmental compliance sustainability initiatives and risk mitigation.
  • Lead incident investigations and the development of corrective actions where required.
  • Drive environmental awareness training and engagement initiatives across project teams.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sustainability outcomes and support Bielbys environmental leadership across NSW.

What Youll Bring

  • Degree in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering Environmental Management or related discipline.
  • 10 years experience in environmental management within civil infrastructure construction mining or related industries.
  • Significant experience working on major road transport or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation approval frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance within complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Proven ability to influence project teams and drive a strong environmental culture.
  • Strong reporting auditing and risk management experience.
  • Ability to balance operational delivery requirements with environmental obligations and sustainability outcomes.
