About the role
AEMOs Congestion and Grid Engineering team provides power system modelling analysis and tools development to support AEMOs control room to operate the grids and markets securely and reliably.
You will support the senior members of the team the Engineering Tech Lead and the Manager Congestion & Grid Engineering in a number of tasks including modelling generators and network in AEMOs Energy Management System (EMS) in both the NEM and WEM SCADA and AGC testing.
What you will be doing
- Regular and timely updates to AEMOs EMS to match with power system changes due to new generators loads batteries and network augmentation as well as improvement and fixes as reported by internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the commissioning / registration of generating plant including SCADA list approval and point-to-point testing.
What you will bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with a power system focus.
- Energy sector experience or experience in a similar complex infrastructure environment.
- Experience with electrical power system modelling and analysis tools (such as SCADA/EMS)
- Understanding of the power system with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
