About The Role

• Drill pattern designs
• Loading and tie up design product selection to maximise fragmentation
• Weekly drill and blast schedules
• Explosives ordering
• Blast reconciliations post blast and communication of results
• Integrated approach and collaboration with planners to maximise coal flow
• Communicate any changing to plans across the wider team
• Develop strong working relationships with drill and blast team
• Look for opportunities of continuous improvement of the drill and blast processes onsite
• Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment at all times

About You

To thrive in this role you align with Thiess core values of Discover Accountable Respectful and Empowered.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years site experience in an operational mining engineering capacity (open cut preferred).
• Attitude to learn and work ethic to deliver the required information to drill and blast crew
• Experience with Blast Logic Vulcan or similar software
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
• A commitment to the best practice of health and safety at all times
• Excellent behavioural time management analytical verbal and written communication skills.
