Thissenior leadershiprole is critical in strengthening the procurement function byestablishingeffective governance policies systems and reporting frameworks that enable consistent and high-quality procurement outcomes. It focuses on improving the way procurement services are delivered by fostering a customer-focused culture enhancing processes and ensuring teams have the tools knowledge and capabilityrequiredto support theorganisation.

The role leads procurement capability development by designing and delivering training initiatives building internalexpertise and supporting the ongoing growth of procurement skills across the Department

About you

You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in bring the ability to build and lead high-performing teams strengthen capability and capacity and create the structures processes and frameworks needed to support a modern procurement are a strategic thinker and effective businesspartner with experience driving alignment across strategy policy governance risktechnologyand training. You have a proven ability to manage changeoptimiseways of working and ensure procurement services are aligned with the Departments needs.

With strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills you are confident working across teams and with external agencies toidentifyopportunities share bestpractice andleveragepartnerships to improve procurement outcomes. You are passionate about developing people embedding a culture of performance and innovation and building a function that is responsive efficient and future-focused.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complexand diverse team.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalentprocurementknowledge and experience.

  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

As a condition of employment successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department willbe requiredto provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCCs validity (up to 5 years).
