Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Operations to join a dynamic 5-star.

Reporting to the General Manager you will play a key leadership role in driving the resorts day-to-day operations guest experience and overall performance across Rooms Food & Beverage Housekeeping Engineering and other operational areas.

This opportunity would suit a hands-on and engaging hotelier who enjoys being close to the operation working collaboratively with teams and creating memorable experiences for both guests and Heartists.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel ensuring exceptional guest experiences and service excellence.
  • Provide visible leadership and support across Food & Beverage Rooms Housekeeping Engineering and other operational departments.
  • Partner with Department Heads to achieve operational financial and guest satisfaction goals.
  • Drive productivity profitability and revenue performance through effective planning and execution.
  • Maintain high standards of quality presentation compliance and brand excellence across the hotel.
  • Support guest recovery and operational decision-making with professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Coach develop and inspire leaders building a high-performing and engaged team culture.
  • Champion workplace health safety risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and business performance.

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

You may currently be working as a:

  • Director of Operations/Operations Manager
  • Executive Assistant Manager Operations
  • Hotel Manager
  • Senior F&B or Rooms leader with broad operational responsibility

Ideally you will bring:

  • Previous leadership experience in an upscale premium or luxury hotel environment.
  • Proven success leading Rooms and/or Food & Beverage operations within a full-service hotel.
  • Experience working in a large and complex hotel operation (300 plus rooms).
  • Strong understanding of guest experience service recovery and quality standards.
  • Commercial acumen with exposure to budgeting productivity and financial performance.
  • Experience leading coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance and risk management practices.
  • Experience within an international hotel brand environment is highly regarded.

Qualifications/Certifications and Clearances

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management Hotel Management Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven operational leadership experience within a full-service hotel environment.
  • Experience leading multiple operational departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using hotel systems guest feedback platforms and business reporting tools
  • Unrestrictive working rights in Australia
  • Responsible Person Badge / RSA - South Australia
  • Full Driver license
  • National Police Clearance and Working with vulnerable people clearance (age care/disability services)
  • Current First Aid and CPR
