RoleDescription:

Workingunder the leadership of the Health Systems Manager to assist AMSANT MemberServices to

effectivelyintegrate and utilise digital health technology with the aim of improvingclinical work data

integrityand accurate reporting for both improved clinical management and healthoutcomes for patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advice information and leadership toMembers and other ACCHS on clinical information systems (CIS) and digitalhealth initiatives and how they affect best practice in a PHC setting.
  2. Support effective digital health technology usagefor Members through the provision of hands-on assistance advice andinformation identify training needs and help to facilitate/coordinatesolutions to problems.
  3. Work with Members and CIS vendors to modify theirprograms so that they are functional tools adapted to local needs bestclinical practice in a PHC setting and enhanced interface with both local andnational digital health initiatives.
  4. Facilitate the AMSANT digital health network and anannual digital health workshop for the sector to both identify issues anddisseminate information to Members including contributing to monthly newslettersregular network emails and updating of content on the website.
  5. On behalf of AMSANT liaise with relevant governmentagencies at local State/Territory and Commonwealth levels on CIS and digitalhealth related issues.
  6. Membership of relevant digital health workinggroups and committees including the AMSANT Communicare user group selected NTand National Digital Health Steering Groups.
  7. Work closely with the Australian Digital HealthAgency to ensure compliance with national legislation implement newtechnology provide advice on the My Health Record functionality uptake and outcomesand provide a voice for ACCHS.
  8. Attend AMSANT staff and program meetings and undertakeother duties as required.

Selection Criteria(Qualifications & Attributes)

Essential

  1. Demonstratedcapacity and experience in managing digital solutions and patient informationsystems in a primary health care related context
  2. Demonstratedability and experience in contributing to and participating in digital healthprojects.
  3. Demonstratedanalytical and conceptual skills especially the ability to present complexideas and situations in a straightforward manner.
  4. Provenverbal and written communication skills suited to a cross-cultural environmentand communication with government and other non-government organisations.
  5. Demonstratedunderstanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and politics and the abilityto take direction from Aboriginal management and work co-operatively in across-cultural environment.
  6. The ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people via a knowledge ofwho to approach and how; an ability to gain the trust and confidence of clientsand co-workers; a knowledge of cultural conventions and appropriate behaviour.
  7. An awareness of the history and role of Aboriginal organizations in the NorthernTerritory an understanding of their history and goals and knowledge of theenvironment in which these organizations operate.
  8. Ability to work responsibly without close supervision including the capacity to planand use time effectively when working on several tasks at once.
  9. Ability and willingness to lead team related tasks to benefit the organisation.

Desirable

  1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a health education management or related field.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of issues pertaining to Indigenous primary health care.

  3. Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NTand Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C classDrivers Licence.
