About the Role
Seeking a talented and driven Data Scientist / Data Engineer with a passion for financial advice and wealth management. This is a hands-on high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys transforming complex financial data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models predictive analytics and statistical solutions.
- Collaborate with product operations and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven outcomes.
- Maintain data quality governance frameworks and documentation standards.
- Analyze complex datasets related to financial advice consumer behavior and market trends.
- Develop dashboards reporting tools and data products for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with AI/ML analytics and financial advice industry developments.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong understanding of the Australian financial advice ecosystem including AFSL structures advisers product platforms and regulatory frameworks (FASEA DDO Best Interests Duty).
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines SQL cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) and workflow orchestration tools.
- Strong Python programming skills for data processing modelling and analysis.
- Practical experience in statistics machine learning and predictive analytics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in financial advice technology wealth management or fintech.
- Familiarity with ASIC data sources and the Financial Advisers Register.
- Experience building data products or analytics platforms in commercial environments.
- Exposure to NLP and unstructured data analysis.
- Previous startup or scale-up experience.
