Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Melbourne team and play a key role in delivering modern data solutions that support analytics reporting and digital transformation initiatives. Working closely with data architects business stakeholders data modellers and delivery teams you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines integrating data from multiple sources and enabling high-quality data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and data integration solutions to support enterprise reporting analytics and operational requirements. You will work with structured and unstructured data from multiple source systems ensuring data is accurately transformed validated and delivered to target platforms. The role involves collaborating with architects data modellers analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement scalable high-performing data solutions. You will also contribute to data quality governance security and best-practice standards while supporting cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Python and data engineering best practices.
• Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Strong experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms including relevant data and analytics services.
• Experience with modern data technologies such as Databricks Snowflake Redshift Synapse Analytics Glue Data Factory or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing data lakes and modern data architectures.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of data governance data quality security and data lineage principles.
• Experience with CI/CD practices version control and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience delivering data engineering solutions within the Banking and Financial Services sector will be highly regarded.
• Exposure to real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
• Cloud certifications in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working in consulting or large enterprise environments.
