Cyber Security Operations Officer

About the role

Based in nipaluna (Hobart) youll play a hands-on role in protecting Hydro Tasmanias technology environment from emerging cyber threats. Youll monitor and respond to security events investigate incidents and help strengthen detection and response capabilities across the business. Working across operational technology and enterprise IT environments youll contribute to threat hunting security monitoring automation awareness initiatives and continuous improvement activities. This is an opportunity to work on varied and meaningful challenges that directly support Tasmanias renewable energy future.
Note this role is a full time two year fixed term contract.

Salary range $96400.00 - $118561.00 plus super

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to cyber security alerts and events
• Investigate security incidents and coordinate response actions
• Detect threats across enterprise and cloud environments
• Develop security monitoring metrics and operational reporting
• Implement tools that improve detection response and forensics
• Improve security processes automation and awareness programs

Skills & experience

• Tertiary qualification in Cyber Security IT or similar
• Experience in a SOC or cyber security operations role
• Knowledge of threat hunting and security monitoring
• Experience with SIEM and event monitoring platforms
• Understanding of incident response and MITRE ATT&CK
