Were partnering with a forward-thinking organisation seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to play a critical role in strengthening cyber resilience across infrastructure cloud and application environments.
The Role
As the Cyber Security Engineer you will design implement and maintain technical security controls that protect organisational systems networks and data. Youll work across both operational and project environments providing expert risk-based advice and helping embed security into day-to-day business operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with stakeholder engagement and continuous security improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy configure and manage security technologies across infrastructure and cloud environments
- Monitor and respond to cyber security incidents and threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities
- Manage and optimise tools including SIEM MDR Tenable UpGuard and endpoint security platforms
- Support security audits risk assessments and compliance activities
- Collaborate with infrastructure cloud operations and project teams to strengthen security posture
- Provide technical security advice and contribute to enterprise cyber risk management
- Assist in improving cyber maturity across the organisation
- Support threat detection monitoring and incident response activities
- Contribute to security awareness and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are a proactive and technically capable Cyber Security professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate security requirements into practical outcomes.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or 510 years experience within cyber security SOC or technical security environments
- Strong hands-on experience with security tools such as UpGuard Tenable SIEM platforms and MDR services
- Solid networking and infrastructure security experience including firewalls routers switches and monitoring tools
- Demonstrated incident response and cyber risk assessment expertise
- Strong stakeholder engagement communication and documentation skills
- Experience working with security frameworks including NIST ISO27001/27002 CIS Controls and Essential Eight
- Scripting or automation experience using Python and/or PowerShell
Highly Regarded
- Threat hunting and advanced detection experience
- Industry certifications including CISSP CEH CompTIA SecurityX or OSCP
- Experience supporting security awareness programs
