The Opportunity

Metalcorp is looking for a Customer Servic Officer to join the team based in Geelong. Metalcorp is a steel and aluminium distributor also specialising in rural products. It is the rural brand for the land with branches in regional locations and is trusted by customers for the quality of its products and the service of its people. The tailored product range includes specialised livestock handling equipment building materials structural and tubular steel fencing roofing aluminium and more. 

Were looking for a results based customer-focused and enthusiastic individual who enjoys helping people building relationships and finding solutions. While customer service experience is important were equally interested in your attitude communication style and willingness to learn. We can teach our products and systems what were really looking for is someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with customers and contributing positively to a close-knit team.

As a Customer Service Officer youll be a key point of contact for our customers providing exceptional service across phone email and in-person interactions. Youll work alongside a supportive and experienced team managing enquiries preparing quotations processing orders and helping customers find the right solutions to meet their needs.

This is a role where no two days are the same. Youll enjoy a varied workload exposure to the full customer lifecycle and opportunities to develop your knowledge of products sales processes and the wider BlueScope business.

The position is a permanent full-time position Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

What Will You Do

As part of our supportive and friendly team you will:

  • interact with our customers over the phone and email managing quotes and queries
  • follow-up on quotations and enquiries converting these into sales opportunities
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing warehouse and sales departments to ensure customer expectations and requirements are met
  • nurture and grow relationships with customers to uncover new business and sales opportunities
  • continuously look at new ways of improving the customer experience and consistently improving the total value proposition

  • high attention to detail and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • confidence to resolve issues effectively and efficiently

  • basic knowledge with Microsoft office and an ability to learn new systems
