About the Role:

Mount Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and reliable CSSD Orderlies to join our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) on a casual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting reusable medical devices equipment and supplies between departments and CSSD for reprocessing and sterilisation.
  • Delivering sterile stock and restocking supplies throughout the hospital.
  • Collecting and disposing of waste and soiled linen in accordance with hospital policies and infection prevention protocols.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the CSSD department in line with hospital procedures.
  • Assisting the CSSD team with departmental duties as directed by the Team Leader or CSSD Manager.
  • Performing other duties as required to support the efficient operation of the department.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Hospital Orderly (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention and safe handling of reusable medical devices.
  • Commitment to maintaining current practical skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and respond to changing clinical demands.
  • Reliable flexible and committed to providing high-quality support services.
