Job Summary
Epworth Freemasons located in East Melbourne is seeking a passionate CSSD Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this leadership role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) ensuring the safe efficient and compliant reprocessing of reusable medical devices to support exceptional patient care.
You will make an impact by:
- Lead and develop the CSSD team to deliver safe high-quality services
- Coach mentor and support staff performance and professional development
- Manage workforce planning resources and operational staffing requirements
- Implement and adhere to Epworth OHS policies protocols and safe work procedures
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with Epworths values and strategic goals
- Adhere to infection control/personal hygiene precautions
To be successful in this role:
This role supports perioperative services by managing the loan instrumentation and equipment process ensuring all required items are received processed and available for use when needed. You will be responsible for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices including collection cleaning decontamination inspection testing packaging sterilisation storage and distribution. Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing CSSD team you will contribute to infection prevention patient safety and the delivery of quality clinical services. Previous theatre nursing experience and a sound understanding of sterilisation and CSSD practices are essential.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in CSSD at a supervisor/manager level with some knowledge and experience with sterilisation of reusable medical devices
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- An understanding of the loan instrument and equipment processes
- Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services
- A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
- Demonstrated knowledge in the application of infection prevention and control practices as well as OHS requirements as they relate to sterilising services
- Understanding of private health industry and professional trends in infection control and sterilisation
- Broad knowledge of financial management principles including budget preparation and budget management

The annual salary range for an Instrument Technician Manager AUD $90821 super entitlements dependent on year level (prorated for part-time).
