About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program
ThePacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative forthe Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries(PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The PacificLabour Mobility Support Programs (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department ofForeign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste withsupport to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximisethe benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks fromlabour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP onbehalf of DFAT.

Aboutthe Role
TheCountry Liaison Officers (CLOs) & Delegations Coordinator Learning andDevelopment plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of CLOs andpartner-government activities under the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program(PLMSP). The role coordinates allocated country portfolios and providesend-to-end operational support to CLOs and delegations strengtheningengagement and collaboration between PALM scheme employers workers LabourSending Units (LSUs) and key stakeholders across Australia and the closely with a diverse range of stakeholders the role helps ensureactivities are well planned safe efficient compliant and aligned withprogram objectives while supporting capability development and continuousimprovement across the CLOs network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary operational contact for allocated partner-country portfolios supporting day-to-day coordination with CLOs LSUs and relevant PLMSP teams.
  • Coordinate the implementation of country-level activities and initiatives arising from CLOs LSU delegation and program engagement activities.
  • Identify emerging operational issues risks and priorities and work proactively with stakeholders to support effective outcomes.
    Provide travel and logistics coordination for CLOs and delegations ensuring activities are safe efficient and aligned with program requirements.
  • Support the implementation of CLOs induction onboarding and ongoing learning and development activities.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of CLOs practice guidance resources records and systems that enhance capability consistency and service delivery across the program.
  • Support capability-building and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen CLOs effectiveness consistency of practice and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with CLOs LSUs DFAT DEWR Approved Employers service providers community and industry representatives and PLMSP colleagues.
  • Use systems data AI and technology to improve workflows enhance reporting and support more efficient ways of working.

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a culturally diverse environment.
  • High level of professionalism diplomatic sensitivity and demonstrated experience working under pressure to meet deadlines.
    Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to follow processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and management including procurement travel and logistics planning.
  • Basic finance/accounting experience e.g. reconciling travel allowances.
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding and experience in arranging travel/events in rural or regional areas of Australia.
  • Drivers licence and flexibility to undertake frequent travel including after hours and weekends and including interstate and international where necessary.
