Corporate Counsel LEDR (Fixed-Term Contract)

Working closely with stakeholders across TAL youll combine your legal expertise with a deep understanding of our business to navigate complex challenges and contribute to meaningful work that makes a difference. In This Role You Will:

• Manage litigated matters in partnership with external legal counsel
• Manage disputes lodged with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and other external complaints bodies
• Provide legal advice and support to the Claims and Underwriting teams as well as other business areas as required
• Deliver training and legal guidance to Claims and Underwriting stakeholders
• Provide legal advice and support to Risk and Compliance on matters relating to the Life Insurance Code of Practice
• Support the Internal Dispute Resolution team with legal advice and guidance
• Partner with other Legal teams to review product documentation and a range of commercial agreements and documents

Qualifications :

• Admission to practise law in Australia with at least 3 years post qualification experience
• Experience working within financial services or another regulated industry
• Knowledge of insurance law and its practical application in a business environment
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach to working with others
• Well-developed organisation time management and prioritisation skills with a proactive mindset
