Contracts Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the contracts delivery for a mega scale project based in Adelaide or this role you will be responsible for determining complex contracts strategies and driving end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution ensuring materials equipment and services are delivered safely compliantly on time and within budget.
Reporting to the Supply Chain and Commercial Director you will lead and mentor the contracts function assigned to the project and work closely with Procurement Transport & Logistics Engineering Cost and Planning Controls Construction Quality and HSE functions as well as client stakeholders and contractors. This is a hands-on leadership role covering strategy tendering award and contract management.
Responsibilities:
- Management of the full lifecycle of contracts ensuring compliance with Head Contract (EPCM). Lead contract negotiations and strong engagement with all stakeholders. Oversee contract award and kick off and oversight of all contract management activities.
- Lead the team to deliver the Contract Management Plan and communication / training of its requirements to varied stakeholder groups.
- Manage supplier and contractor performance across the full contract lifecycle including variations claims risk management invoicing records management and close-out. Roll up of performance data for contracts managed as EPCM representative of Client.
- Direct complex tendering activities and commercial negotiations including interface with legal and approve award recommendations contracts and purchase orders.
- Partner with senior project personnel and client representatives to align priorities ensure EPCM contract compliance and meet interface and reporting requirements.
- Embed quality HSE and Australian Industry Participation Plan requirements across all contracts activities ensuring compliance of equipment materials and services.
- Liaise with your Procurement counterparts to ensure leverage opportunities are identified and executed.
- Ensure you consider lessons learned opportunities and flow into your work outputs.
- Oversee supply chain input into project estimates and schedules for nominated contract packages.
- Application of strong Commercial Acumen and demonstration of strong Supplier Relationship Management including structured Contract Governance.
- Maintain contract award and management systems and data integrity ensuring timely accurate reporting and disciplined document control.
- Coordinate with engineering planning project controls construction HSE and quality teams to expedite control and receipt materials and services to site and client facilities.
- Performance Management of your Contracts Team Members.
About you
- Masters and/or Degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in supply chain law business commercial quantity surveying construction management or a related discipline.
- MCIPS RIQS or similar professional accreditation highly regarded.
- Proven leadership experience managing procurement and contracts teams on major projects ideally within EPCM or EPC environments.
- Strong commercial capability across procurement strategy complex tendering negotiation contract formation and contract administration through to close-out.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to partner confidently with clients and senior project leaders.
- Disciplined approach to HSE quality and governance supported by strong systems capability (e.g. Aveva ERM Aconex) and data and document control.
