Job Summary

Tjuntjuntjara is a small remote Aboriginalcommunity located on the Spinifex Lands in the Western Desert region of Western Australia. Within this area Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation (PTAC) is an Aboriginal corporation with responsibility for managing the essential and community services in the community. This includes but is not limited to the Community Store Community Resource Centre a Womens Centre Indigenous Sport and Recreation program an Environmental Health program municipal services(airstrip tip road maintenance water power sewerage) mechanics workshop the Community Development Program and Spinifex Health Services (including Youth and Home and Community Care programs). Tjuntjuntjara is the main population Centre for the Spinifex Lands over 55000 sq. kms of Native Title area in the Great Victoria Desert region of Western Australia.

Role

The Community Resource Centre (CRC) CoOrdinator plays a central role in delivering essential services and support to the Tjuntjuntjara community. Reporting to the Community Services Operations Manager the position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CRCensuring it functions as a reliable hub for community access to information technology and government services. Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Community Resource Centre ensuring it is openaccessible and running efficiently while managing administrative tasksschedules and service delivery.
  • Provide Services Australia services to the Tjuntjuntjara community as a CentrelinkAgent.
  • Assist community members to access Services Australia systems including completingapplications navigating MyGov and attending appointments.
  • Plan and facilitate training community workshops and initiatives that build skillsin areas such as digital literacy financial capability and employmentreadiness.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance with everyday needs such as identification bankinggovernment forms and referrals to other services.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program outcomes attendance andfunding compliance.
  • Liaise with government agencies service providers and funding bodies to supportservice coordination and program delivery.
  • Manage functions such as post office services mail distribution and coordination ofhousing maintenance requests.
  • Provide guidance mentoring and training to casual staff ensuring performancecompliance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Tjuntjuntjara RAES program to prioritise employment opportunities forCommunity Members.
  • Adhere to organisational procedures including work health and safety riskmanagement and code of conduct requirements.
  • Empower community members by improving access to services strengthening skills andsupporting participation in employment and community initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of three years experience in a similar role within a communitynot-for-profit or service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Services Australia systems including Centrelink andMedicare processes.
  • Strong report writing data collection and administrative skills with the ability tomaintain accurate records and meet reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage programs budgets and grants in a not-for-profit setting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engageeffectively with community members stakeholders and government agencies.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competingdemands and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with limited supervision and collaborativelywithin a team environment.
  • Experience in planning and delivering community programs training and initiatives thatsupport participation and skill development.
  • Strong IT skills including the ability to support others in accessing online systemsand digital services.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement professional development and culturallyappropriate service delivery.
  • A current Working with Children Check National Police Clearance and validdrivers license.
  • Australian citizenship permanent residency or appropriate work rights.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current Western Australian Working with Children Check.
  • A National Police Clearance (not more than 2 years old).
  • Australian citizenship permanent resident status or appropriate work visa.
  • A current manual drivers license.

The salary range offered is between $93090.08 $99.788.72 per annum FTE equiv. plus superannuation depending on skills and experience.
